I regret that I tried darkening the letters in the way that I did with the thick lines in the middle of the letters - the only way I could 'correct' it is by completely filling in the characters. Lesson learned.

These are the process photos of my assemblage sculpture במדבר
Materials used in this assemblage include wood, metal, LEDs, fiber optics, gesso, oil paint, acrylic paint, crochet thread, ink, paper, solder, and hair. This last photo is slightly over-exposed so that it's easier to see the details which are harder to see in the actual lighting of the sculpture when viewed in person.
Occupy Wall Street - Zuccotti Park: New York, NY - October 13th, 2011
Whatever one may think of the Occupy Wall Street movement it's become a major happening in many cities across the US and abroad. Lower Manhattan is where the movement started. These photos were taken the night before the protestors were told they would have to leave the park for cleaning (which they ended up not having to do).
Park Slope Rally: 9.14.2011
In response to multiple recent rapes and rape attempts in Park Slope (Brooklyn) and the surrounding neighbhorhoods, Safe Slope, a "Brooklyn-based group providing services and resources to help empower and protect the communities of South Slope/Greenwood Heights/Windsor Terrace/Park Slope," organized a "Take Back The Streets" Rally which happened September 14th, 2011 from 8-10pm. The rally/march began at the Prospect Ave Subway Station on the R line, marched along 4th and then 5th Ave, and then rallied in Detective Joseph Mayrose Park on 17th Street between 6th and 7th Aves. Below are some photos of the march/rally, along with some links to videos that I shot during the event.
